MacuShield Original Chewable provides a MacuShield Original formulation with additional vitamin B2 which helps maintain normal vision. The product is a one-a-day, bilberry flavoured chewable tablet which is suitable for vegans and vegetarians.
Scientific research shows that three nutrients; meso-zeaxanthin, lutein and zeaxanthin are found at the back of the eye, at the macula, where they form the macular pigment (yellow colour). Meso-zeaxanthin is particularly concentrated at the centre of this pigment.
Lutein and zeaxanthin can be found in fruits and vegetables and meso–zeaxanthin is present in some species of fish and seafood. The macular carotenoids in MacuShield Original Chewable are obtained from marigolds, specifically grown for this purpose.
